Tiny Router Modes: Wifi Repeater/Ethernet to Wireless adapter (and probably vice versa) / WiFi Access Point / WiFi Extender / Ethernet to USB Converter/ WiFi Connection sharing (in case only one WiFi device is permitted like internet cafe)

PS: HP Wireless Assistant usually has a pre-installed HP app for this job.

No1 : Windows Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) - Details bellow apply to Win7 Pro.

Full Tutorial here: http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Remote-Desktop-in-Windows-7

Tiny Tutorial:
On the PC you want to control: Start->My computer - Right Click -> Properties -> Remote Settings Tab -> Check "allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure)" -> You are done. Just Find you LAN IP (i.e cmd/ipconfig , etc) since you are going to need it....

On your PC:  Find Remote Desktop Connection app (use win7 search bar on the start menu for easy find) -> run -> give remote PC IP -> give valid username on the remote PC -> connect -> provide valid password for given username on remote PC -> you are done...!

Tips:
In your PC you can apply the username / password of the reqular account of the remote PC. No need to create a seperate account to remote PC.
For example if Remote PC accoung is using username : george, and password 1234, then you have to provide the same username / password on RDC.

Important: No blank passwords are allowed in your user profile, if you want RDC to run!

Test Results:
Tested with two PCs in my home. Both PCs equipped with Win7 Pro Edition.
Both PCs connected to my ADSL router using Wifi (n).

Serious Bug:
RDC doesn't allow local/remote user to use simultaneously the PC nor to see tha same screen.
Only one user can be connected at the time.
So if you are remotelly connected to a machine, then local user is kicked out facing the log on screen! If local user enters password and re-connects on his local machine, remote user is kicked out!

No2: Other Software for PC to PC in a LAN:
TeamViewer , Real VNC, NetOp Remote Control
Real VNC in my case was really slow. Speed Connection was something like 9600 kbps, even if both PCs was connected with WiFi (n) mode (n mode allows up to 300Mbps traffic on lan).
But with Real VNC , local and remote user see the same screen...!

Test of UltraVNC:  Same results as Real VNC , speed no more than 9000 kbits/sec.

Next Software to be tested : www.litemanager.com

PC to PC through internet:
https://www.logmein.com
Offcourse connection speed depends on your internet connection, both local and remote.
Has been tested with strong 3G connection (on remote PC) and the performance was great...

Real VNC and similar VNC
Use of software like Real VNC or UltraVNC , in order to work from internet you need to enable Port Forwarding on the router that server is set up (even if you use Java Interface for remote connection on ports 80 or 443). Once you open TCP port 5900 , Real VNC works fine but you need to know the external IP address of the VNC Server.

On the other hand, use of services like logmein.com, do not require any modification / port forwarding to the target machine.Reason is that in this case, you install on target machine a small app and the server is actually the logmein.com and not the target machine.
In this way , you (client) connect to logmein.com, target machine is connected also to logmein.com (through the small app) and web server logmein.com join you two together.

This is why it is a paid service.

TeamViewer : Current versions turned to be a reall problem solver.
You can connect by your browser (requires native client plugin enable and teamviewer extension) , you can set up an account and store your pcs inthere, you can make a direct connection without any account by the providing id/password, and you can also use a tiny portable teamviewer app (available by teamviewer web site) to make connections on the go without the need of full installation.
